- Pure dogma: "It's always been done this way", "It's God's Will", "It's written in the Scrum Guide"
- Revealed dogma, wisdom based on trust in the authority of respected leaders: "Our leader wants it done this way", "Our consultants have recommended we do it this way", "She has the most experience, so we should do what she says"
- Truth derived by a rational-legal process (socially determined truth): "We'll take this to the marketing committee and do what they decide", "the boss will decide this, it's his responsibility", "we'll vote and go with the majority", "we agreed that the production department head should decide this"
- Truth is what survives conflict and debate: "We debated this on three different committees, tested it with the sales force, and the idea is still sound, so we'll do it", "Does anyone see any problems with this? If not, we'll do it."
- Truth is what works (pure pragmatism): "Let's try it out and see how well it works."
- Truth as established by the scientific method: "Our research shows this is the right way to do it", "Three different studies all show the same thing, so let's do it"
