Specification-Driven vs Customer-Driven product development

Via Managing the Design Factory,

If we believe that the only reason why our products have problems is due to human error and lack of discipline, then we'll just keep trying harder to create a better specification.

Our product development process will be specification-driven will look something like this:










If we believe that a product specification must inevitably contain flaws, then we will work continuously to detect these flaws.
