'Standard approach" does not necessarily mean proven approach

When many people say "standard approach" they are referring to a de jure standard, that is, one that was established by a committee from a standards body. This may or may not be based on a de facto standard, that is, one that has been established and proven in the field.

So do I care about "standard approaches"? Not so much. I'm more interested in proven approaches.

And then of course, on continuous improvement.
